Contract renewal pricing

I have been a Nashua Mobile customer since 2006. 3 months ago I asked them to quote me for renewing 2 contracts, but I only wanted 1 phone (iphone 5) that I wanted to pay for upfront (instead of monthly over 2 years). I now have the money available and asked them for a new quote (assuming the phone price may have gone down).

However - they now quote me R500 more for the phone. And an extra R100 a month for the contract.
Doesn't make any sense to me.
