I have now had to log 8 faults with Telkom about my ADSL connection which has not been working for almost a month. Thats comes down to 2 faults average a week, but yet the problem remains unresolved. Time and again I have been promised that technicians are dealing with the problem. After a while the connection works for a few hours and then breaks down again. I dont mean to be rude, but to log 8 faults with NO success comes down to incompetence with me. But then again Telkom is a parastatal, so no surprise really... I have not been able to speak to a manager at the call centre because they are so busy. The people at the call centre are helpful and polite but the bottom line is that I pay for something Im not getting. My DSL line had worked flawlessly for more than 2 years before this dilemma. I dont know what to do about this as there is no direct competition to this product and thus Telkom has a monopoly. I am stuck with their utter incompetence.
