I recently entered into a contract on the 4th July 2013 with MTN for a Samsung S4 on a top up 350 at MTN Centurion Mall. There were 2 options for the phone that I wanted.
The one includes: R350 airtime, 50 sms's and 150MB and costs R549 and is a closed contract.
The package I wanted includes: R350 airtime, 350 sms's, 350MB and 60min free mtn-to-mtn calls which cost R499 and is an open contract.
The MTN consultant had told me that the option I should take is the same as what I wanted but it's safer as it is a closed contract. I was under the impression that I would get the same perks and pay an extra R50 to keep the contract closed, however after I had received my top up on the 14Th of July I saw that it was not what I wanted.
No person with a rational mind will pay more to receive less. I was misinformed by your consultant and the contract that I signed did not stipulate the perks included. I queried the matter within the due time frames.
I would like this contract to be migrated to the 350 anytime open contract alternatively the contract can get cancelled as I was sold something I did not want. I refuse to be locked into a 24 month contract that I did not want.
