5 weeks to number port

Went to Cell C Hatfield 5 weeks ago to number port and get a contract with them. Filled in all the forms, they said it would be a week or two. Heard nothing, went back after three weeks - "oh, the forms are still here - don't know what happened - we will submit now". Went back after another week. "Oh yes, it's been approved, we tried to call you on Saturday but didn't get a reply" (they used the office number, I had asked them to use my cell number). Don't know why they didn't try to phone again on Mon, Tue or Wed... "your contract will be active within 24 hours", nothing happened, went back 24 hours later, was told the same thing, nothing happened, went back 24 hours later was told that Cell C number porting was down (i had tried to phone the branch but no reply and I couldn't get to a human on the regular Cell C help centre. "But on Monday, for sure this will happen" they told me. Today is Monday, it is turned 2pm and nothing has happened - should I give up? Is Cell C actually capable of porting a number and opening a contract (BTW hope I am not being billed until the number is ported). Are you capable of phoning an update?
