Faults queues and incompetence

After choosing a SONY Smartphone, I had no communications as the agent "forgot" the activate the LTE service. I needed to buy another SIM and use an old phone to have coms at all.
After LTE was activated, coms stopped 10 minutes after leaving the shop. I wanted to apply the OUT OF THE BOX exchange option, but was told to first get a software upgrade. More queues, more waiting, another day passed. After new software, it was still not perfect, so was told to queue again, as I now should deal with another dude there.
After that, random failures happened while overseas. Good buddies there tell me to go for iPhones... but too late. Back in SA, no signal, I cant even ROAMOFF, thus no internet banking!! What a mess. Again to Menlyn, again in queues, they cant help, and escalating the call to the network guys which dont work after 19:00.
Then my daughter suggested to just try another SIM: WOW: SONY works like a bomb. So: why cant Menlyn technical vodacom staff not find such simple fault? Dont they want to admit mal-functioning and are hoping it goes away or passing any warranty time? On the very first day when I got the SIM, the agent thought the SIM was faulty, and wanted to swop it...
