I took a Blackberry 9380 into the MTN Keywest store as the phone did not pick up the battery. It was in for 2 weeks. I collected the phone on the Friday but not mine, a refurbished one. In the following week on a Thursday I called Matshepo as the phone was freezing and switching off. I was told to bring it back. I took it in on the Saturday and dealt with Sam. We did the paperwork and again waited for 2 weeks. After the two weeks had elapsed, I went to the store on 14 July to see if my phone was back, it was but nothing was done. Instead the technician stated that there was internal damage to 3 or 4 components on the board and that I am liable to pay R300 to have it repaired.

I immediately gave the device back to MTN and asked for them to take it up with their repairs. I was instructed to collect the device and go to the Crown Mines repair centre to go and fight my case wit them. It is disgusting that they firstly hand me someone else's and when I raise the issue, I get told that the phone is damaged. Secondly, I get told to go the the repair centre to sort out the issue. Why was I given a refurbished faulty phone and why must I sort out internal rubbish???
