We sold our house and on the 1st of April in contacted Telkom to cancel my account. After spending 45minutes holding on at various stages I managed to telephonically cancel (or so I thought) my account. I e-mailed them to confirm the cancellation. Since then I have been receiving statements montly and monthly I email back requesting cancellation. Last month we phoned and was told that it will definately be cancelled. I just received my latest statement reflecting interest charged on the arrears!! I have no idea what to do next. The scary fact is that the new purchasers can very easily plug in a phone and start running up this bill.
