I have had an MTN contract for 4 years. The number is 0837398182. After the initial 2 years, I attempted to cancel, but the contract had been automatically renewed without my consent. The contract now again comes to an end tomorrow 16 July 2013. I have been trying to cancel this contract since 14 June with no success. I am unable to go into a branch, and sent my son in law to the Canal walk branch with a signed cancellation along with a copy of my ID. He was informed that I should phone 808. After doing this, I was passed from agent to agent with no one wanting to assist. My daughter then went to Durbanville offices with the same documentation, and was told that I need to contact MTN after the 16 to convert the contract to prepaid as this is the easiest method - this followed an SMS saying that the contract will be renewed on 16 July and to ensure that funds are available in my account. DO NOT DEBIT MY ACCOUNT AS I DO NOT WANT THIS CONTRACT. IT IS NO LONGER REQUIRED AND I AM NOT USING IT. Should my account be debited - I will be taking legal action. I expect confirmation that this account is cancelled by close of business today.
