Despite being registered with the Direct Marketing Association of South Africa, I still receive unsolicited calls from Cell C, a company with which I have never had any kind of account/contract. On explaining this to the caller at the contact centre and requesting that I not be contacted again, he asked me if I did not think I was lucky to receive these calls. The answer is a resounding NO. Efforts to contact Cell C directly are not yielding any results, just endless transfers to various departments where I keep being put on hold. On getting through to a supervisor in the call centre, I was informed that the opt-out list is not available to the call centre. Since Cell C itself offers an opt out service via the DMASA I find this ridiculous.
