I took out a contract for an Ipad 4 - 24 months with 500 MB Broadband for a monthly cost of R299
I only activated my sim card (1/4/2013) a month after I took delivery of my Ipad which was on 4/3/2013.
I noticed my account being quite high for the 2nd month, and did not really think too much of it. The following month was also high. In May/June I went overseas (for a whole month (7/5/2013 - 10/06/2013) and was advised to take out my sim card and get a micro card overseas. I in fact used WiFi overseas. I received a very hefty bill and upon enquiry was informed that it was not MNet but 2 Service Providers. I was advised that I must have subscribed when I went on the respective website and I had to cancel the subscriptions.
I do not recall signing up for these 2 S/Providers. I signed a contract with MTN who has my bank details and collects my installments - not the 2 S/Providers. I want proof where I signed up with the S/Providers, and require MTN to cancel the subscriptions and insist on refund from MTN.
If I do not get any satisfactory respond, then I have not choice to report the matter to the Ombudsman.
