Data Contract - MTN

I have a 2 years MTN data contract with Nashua Mobile that provides me with 2G data every month. In June last month I used all my data and the contract was Soft Locked because I requested that a limit is on so that I can only use my 2G. On 1 July 2013 I came back from work and received a message on my data card that my soft lock has been uplifted. I did some work and left the laptop for a while with the data card still connected. When I returned I tried to do something and the internet was just hanging. When I went into my data card I saw a new message that my account is on R1389 and I reached my call limit of R70 and my card will be soft locked. I could not understand because it is the 1st of the month and I received the message 03:28 that my soft lock has been lifted. The second message was send 04:43. How can I use all my data in little more than an hour. When I phoned my service provider Nashua Mobile they told me that the soft is uplifted every month on the 1st but the data is only loaded on the 2nd. I thought that my 2G will be available because the lock has been lifted. How must I know that the data is only loaded on the 2nd. This is ridicules, an unacceptable
