After going to get a new contract with Cell C at the The Glen, I was told that they were unable to port my Vodacom number at that time because it was on contract and that i would need to port my number at a later date. I asked the consultant whether i could do so at the beginning of July and whether there would be any costs involved. I was emphatically told that there would be no costs involved at all and it should not be a problem. On Monday, I contact Cell C and requested for them to port my Vodacom number as i had since put it onto prepaid. I was told that it would take place within 48 hours. 4 days later i once again contacted Cell C to note that nothing had changed and to follow up on what was going on. After being transferred to the Port department, I was then told that yes they could do it today and it would be effective within 24 hours but that there would be a R250 charge. Given the business urgency of getting my old number i was left without a choice but to request this to be done (and was told that if i have a complaint/ query i should go back to the Branch). I have had a Cell C contract for 2 weeks and am starting to wish that i hadnt changed
