We have been Iburst customers for nearly 7years in Pretoria. Mostly things have gone well, and except for maybe impractical USB modems we have been satisfied. Unfortunately this is not the case any more. We recently relocated, barely 10km away. Sadly, we now have NO iburst coverage. Since internet is part of life as professionals, we enquired but Iburst was unable to help us at all. Even the suggestion from their helpdesk to get an external antenna to boost the signal was a dead end. This will cost us approximately R600-R800 extra with no guarantee of a better signal. In the end the salesperson declared he would not recommend this at all for our area.
The best part? We have to keep on paying Iburst for no internet service, since it is a fixed contract. Apparently they cover themselves well in the contract saying if you relocate, you have to carry on with them (according to the rude retention department person).
I get it if you moved to Pofadder and there is no coverage. What I do not understand is how a) you still don't have coverage in a suburb such as Faerie Glen b) why you can't release people in these situations from their contract when YOU can't provide the service! Unhappy!
