Desperate for a landline

We have a Telkom Wireless phone because the complex we lived in previously had no Telkom cables. We moved into our home almost 18 months ago and immediately applied for a fixed landline - the previous homeowner transferred her existing number to her new home. However we were told numerous times that it was impossible for us to get a landline as all the lines on our street were used. I am now desperate for a landline so that I can also have a Telkom Internet package. I am spending a fortune on Internet use (for work), because I don't have a fixed line. Surely with all the advanced services and products that Telkom is advertising, supplying us with a landline should be a simple thing??
