I took a 2gig 3G contract lAst year May with Vodacom. For 8 months I could not use all the data in a particular month and the 1st month I went over my data bundle, where I received NO warning or notification that I was reaching my 2gig capping, I received a bill for R754 for using 300mb more data than my bundle contract was for.
I contacted the call centre to enquire why I received such a huge bill and was advised I didn't request a "voluntary limit" on my contract so they kept on allowing me to use data after exceeding my contract amount. I requested in this same call to set this voluntary limit in place and the next month I ran out of data around the 20th. The following month I received a bill for R1022 when going to a Vodacom shop in Clearwater mall the call centre agent said told the shop assistant I explicitly requested the limit to be removed, which any sane person can see is ridicules!
Do not take a contract with Vodacom they will not disclose the out of bundle rates and they do not put limits in place when offering it and you requesting it to be put in place.
