Uncapped Data Contracts
I had opted for a Laptop pkg from MTN. The store sales clerks suggested that for my requirment a uncapped line will be the best option. They at no time advised me of the problems they are currently facing ie: signal strength in my area which they are aware of and did not advise me at anytime that the speed of the line will be throttleg afetr using 3g of data. As a customer the understanding i had was uncapped is uncapped. No where on my contract was it stated that after 3g the line will be throttles. Now they tell me even though they throttles the speed I have still used huge amounts of data. I dont deny this but the issue is not the amount of data it is the speed. Why should I have to spend more time in front of the pc on the net than i have too. If this information was relayed to me correclty then i would not have taken out this contract. Now MTN tells me that to cancel this contract is going to cost me money. I have three other contracts with MTN and trust me they will not be renewed this year - they will be cancelled. We have lots of networks now. It is not because of the produc the network has it is their service that we choose... Never again - regards 10 Loyal MTN Customer.
