Cell C
Porting without consent and unwanted costs

On 23 May 2013 my cell number was ported from MTN to Cell C without my consent. I recieved a message from Cell C and did not pay attention but later that evening i had no network coverage. When i contacted MTN they informed me that my number was ported from MTN to Cell C and i am no longer a customer with them. I then contacted Cell C and wanted to know how they can do this without my permission but could not answer me. I then had to make a number of calls from my work phone to get my number back and only by the following evening was able to get it back and working on MTN network. I again got the same message of my number being ported to Cell C right after lodging a complaint on Cell C website. I lost my loyalty points, my credit with MTN and had to make numerous lengthy phonecalls from my work phone for my acccount, to be able to sort this out and get my phone working again. Ever since i lodged the complaint with Cell C, no one has responded to my complaint. I am still awaiting feedback on how they can do this without my consent or permission and also on the losses occurred and my costs getting my phone back online.
