Unable to cancel

I phoned 11 April 2013 to give slightly more than 1 month notice, the 24 months ending 17 May 2013. Yesterday (21/05) I phoned again to check why not cancelled by the 17th May already, get told it hasn't been done yet. My ref. no. from the first call on the 11 April 2013 is 46754343. Today when I was talking to the lady, I was cut off when she tried to transfer me to cancellations, having been on the phone waiting for about 10 minutes, I can't try again to phone.
Tried phoning again today (22/05), they say they are doing a software upgrade, they'll get back to me by 12 o' clock regarding my cancellation. Nothing! (As expected)

To Virgin Mobile, please can you make sure this is cancelled IMMEDIATELY, I shouldn't have to follow up to check why Virgin Mobile is not doing as I requested.
I want this cancelled immediately, I fulfilled my part of the contract, now fulfil your part.
My number I want released for porting to MTN so please make it available as prepaid, do not remove it from the system so that it is no longer available to me to port over. Also, please undo any charges that have occurred since 17th May, as it is your fault, not mine that this contract is now still active!
