Contract cancellation

On Saturday 11 May 2013 I phoned the cancellation call center to get the info needed to cancel my current contract. I was sent a quote for such cancellation. I was told once the payment has been done and proof sent through it will take 24 hours till contract is canceled.
On Monday morning 13 May 2013 I did the payment and mailed through the proof of payment as well as signed quote and copy of my ID as stated on the quote.
Then on Tuesday 14 May 2013 I phoned to find out the status of my cancellation, and was then told it will take 24-48 hours, and that nothing was reflecting on the system.
Then on Wednesday 15 May I phoned again to find out what exactly is going on, just to get told the payment is reflection but not my email, and also that it will take 48-72 hours for cancellation.
My problem is everybody keeps telling me different stories, and cant seem to get to talk to someone that knows what is going on.
Spoke to the supervisor on duty on 15 May 2013 at around 10:00 am and then forwarded her the email that I sent through on Monday and was told she will send it through directly for immediate cancellation.
