Cell C recently ran a promotion on the I pad Mini at Makro. you get an I pad Mini with 500MB a month for R199 on My Meg 500. At the end of the month i received a bill of R1500. The reason is because my contract is an open one! something that was not said to me in store or by Cell C. When i went to Makro they told me to fill in the application, not telling me that it was the contract agreement, rather "The Application" She told me she will contact me & notify me of the outcome. I received a call & collected the unit & paid my once off charge, thinking nothing as i have other contracts with Cell C. When i got billed i phoned them, after an hour with the call centre manager, she told me i owe the amount & there is nothing i can do, I asked her if she had alternative contact numbers for me, she said yes, I asked why i was not notified that i had depleted the 500MB? she replied, we send notifications, but they cant be viewed from an Ipad. I mean really, is that my problem? This has already effected my credibility with financial institutions to the extent that i now struggle with going about daily life! Will Cell C be making up for this!? I don't think so. I dont feel i am liable!!!
