I changed my bank account from a savings to a cheque account and updated my banking details on-line through the Cell C website. There is NO disclaimer informing you that it takes up to 2 months to update your details. I have 2 contracts on my name and have paid every month without fail and have had no late payments. I noticed that my 1 contract was not coming off my new account so I decided to call Cell C directly as they haven't even bothered to contact me about this problem and just blocked the account. Surely when payments are not being made you call the person to notify them like most businesses do? It turns out that I owe an amount of over 3k which is impossible when the account is R280 p/m. They now expect me to pay this full amount upfront to get it up-to-date which I feel is totally unfair as it is not my fault that this happened. I checked my Cell C account on their website and it shows that my account details have been updated. Cell C is still debiting off my savings account which I no longer use and they are just causing me bank charges on that account!!! Cell C owes me a good amount of money to my bank for the bank charges now as it is R50 for every bounce!
