For 5 of the past 6 months Virgin Active Cape Gate had change room lockers broken into. I only saw the stats up until August. What about the preceding months/years? I lost R10 000 on Sat 5 Jan 2013. I LOCKED my locker with a combination lock that requires a pin to open. This lock is not faulty. I was only away for 15 mins.
I lost R9k phone, R400 cash, Cap R200. There were about 10 other victims. 2 of the staff & the clubmanager said out right that we can claim, bt nothing will come from it. Reported case@ police station. Officer said that it's a common occurrence.
I complained @Club mngr my disgust towards not being made aware of previous break-ins. I feel Virgin Active is negligent wrt this situation, because of the break-in stats.
The point I cudnt get across @club manager & @Virgn Activ? If ur combat process "works" WHY DO U HAVE LOCKER BREAKINS 5/6 months since August? WHY DONT U DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT? The police officer shared my sentiments. My car key was in the locker. VA doesnt assume the risk.
There is a flaw in the lock and I made the manager aware. The club mngr told me he will not change the lock mechanism 2 mitigate the flaw > budget. My budget is @loss R10 000
