Terrible Customer Treatment

Ive had the worst experience with Virgin Active, I was on Martenity Confinement and had spoken to an Agent to Suspend my account as I would'nt be able to pay my monthly membership fee. In October 2013 I got an E-mail from Sharlene advising me my account was in arrears with 478.50. I told her it was news to me as I was under the impression my account was suspended and I would only be returning to work towards the end of December. After returning to work I made a call to their call centre, the agent advised that my arrears where still R478.50 and then I enquired about re-activation of my account and I was told the best thing for me to do is pay at the respective branch and re-activate my account there. After paying the lady advised me that I cannot re-activate but would have to sign a new contract as my membeship had been cancelled. I then asked why was I never advised about this and also the fact that as a member of Vitality my membership cannot be suspended. she called their head office and I spoke to another agent who could not answer my questions, she told me that Victoria would call me and that was last week Wednesday already. Im appaulled the manner which this had been handled
