My wife and I are members at Planet Fitness Craighall. We plan to move to Virgin Victory Park soon because we are moving to that area.
We are Vitality members so we pay just over R100 a month each.
Our year long contract ends in 2 months.
The gym is closing down this week for 4 months for renovations (much needed ones!!!). We asked if we could pay out the last couple months of our vitality membership so that we could join the Virgin. What do you think the answer was??!!
They want us to pay out the contract at the full membership fee instead of the Vitality fee, which is a lot more!!
When we told them that was ridiculous, they simply shrugged their shoulders. We are happy to pay what we would have kept on paying had the gym remained open, but there is no way I'm gonna cough up extra to Planet Fitness for nothing.
When we query the problem Planet Fitness blame Discovery, and Discovery blame Planet Fitness. And our attempt to speak to the manager at the gym was met with "He's not often here, you can't have his cellphone number, please email him and he will get back you. Or leave your number and he will call you". You can guess how successful that has been?!!! Useless Planet Fitness!
