I am a 77 year old {somewhat} physically handicapped male member of Virgin Active Health Club Cape Gate Branch (amputated right leg, left knee bone on bone, left ankle and spine arthritis) and have been for - 6 years.
More than 4 months ago the lift for disabled members after many problems eventually broke down completely. (the gym is built on 2 floors)
It would appear that the engineers responsible for the maintenance are incompetent and cannot effect the necessary repairs.
I have written to the general manager of the branch and had 2 meetings face to face, who is a charming gentleman but cannot help in any way and has no idea when the repairs are likely to be completed, if indeed at all. I copied my letter to the MD and received no reply.
I do not want to make a fuss but after struggling all these months I have had enough and would like the answer to one question: "Why if the old lift which gave trouble on a weekly basis is irreparable why on earth not install a new one from a reputable company. In the meantime the fees have increased but not the quality of service
