A few months ago I was phoned by the Virgin Active in Gatevilles/Athlone to upgrade my membership to Premier at no additional cost. As my one year contract ended and being on a month to month contract there was no need to update my this new Premier Membership. The sales consultant indicated that if i signed up I would get a new addidas training bag. When I went to the gym to find out more about the deal, i asked the sales consultant if i my month to month rolling contract would be maintained as I did not want to be tied down to a long term contract. He told me that my month to month contract would be maintain. I phoned today to cancel my contract, to my dismay I was signed up on a two year contract! When i phoned the gym and explained the situation they told me I signed the deal for two year contact. It was then clear that the sales consultantant to get me sign the new deal. The are no real benefits to this deal as I could only visit two different VA and maintain the same month rate. Why on earth would I sign a deal for two years with no real benefit where as i could of kept my month to month deal???
I'm definately not being moved!
