CHANGE OF CONTRACT

I was debited for my monthly membership on the 01 November 2013 (R485). I then joined Liberty Own Your Life for the sole purpose of the gym.

On the 02 November 2013 I visited the Bellair branch to change my contract over from a normal membership to the own your life membership.
I was told that this cannot be done pro-rata and that I should start it as of the next month, being December.

I then visited the Randburg branch and was told the same thing. I went back to Bellair a few weeks later and I was then told that it is too late for this month and I must start as of next month.

Still appalled by this, I called the contact centre. The lady was kind enough to explain to me that there is nothing she can do at this point and she did assist by "freezing" my account.

I am now expected to pay R485 plus another R400 to initiate my new membership with own your life. This is ridiculous as I tried to get this done the very next day! The consultants were just too lazy! It seemed that they are quick to act, only if commission is involved.

Why could I not be charged pro-rata for the day (01 November) and the balance be used to switch my contract!
This is possible as others have done it!
