Ambiguous Policies Regarding Weight Lifting

During the warm up of my first exercise this morning - the deadlift, I was approached by a floor assistant and asked to not drop the weights. However, I advised him that I wasn't dropping weights but actually leaving it onto the floor and that the weights are meant to touch the ground for this exercise. Else, I would be hurting my lower back. Hence, the gym has this deadlift platform for putting weights onto the ground.

I then spoke to the reception manager about this and she had agreed to put me in touch with the branch manager. I also advised them that during the evenings, no assistants advised anyone about 'dropping weights'. I am dissatisfied since the policy of dropping weights apparently only applied to the morning since some members don't like this. This is a dual policy and aside from this, the assistant wasn't able to determine the difference between putting the weights onto the floor vs actually dropping or throwing weights.

Assistants need training regarding this key difference. As a long standing member of nearly 4 years that has always adhered to the rules, it seems there is favouritism and unclear policies.
