This morning, the top bar (of the tricep pull down machine) fell on my head as i went to lift the rope at bottom of the machine.
I went to the doctor and I am suffering from concussion and a 2cm laceration of my skull because of this. The doctor believes that if i wasn't wearing a cap, it would have split my head open!!!
I am very disappointed with the way in which this matter was handled by Virgin Active.
The staff member assisting me didn't even ask which machine it was, and i heard other staff members say the same thing has happened numerous times before (Why has this faulty equipment not been fixed?) and joking about uploading the footage from the surveillance camera onto Youtube. I find this extremely disrespectful and inappropriate.
This is unacceptable! I feel that the matter has not been taken seriously by Virgin Active- the club management should be informed and follow up on incidents like this, with regards to both the faulty machinery and the fact that i was left with a hole in my head, a forehead full of blood and a R 440 medical bill (excluding the prescribed medication).
