I am really happy the gym is getting a re-vamp... much needed, but the way planet fitness are dealing with it is ridiculous, everyone is upset. Its crazy and shows the mentality of the gym, they really don't care, they want you to sign up and once you signed up and stuck in your contract, they don't care about the customer because you stuck. I only joined the gym in January, no one told me about the renovations when i joined, i was also promised a copy of my contract which i enquired about numerous times and got promised i would be called to come and collect, never happen. I joined because the location was convenient. Its a terrible gym, hence the upgrades but location wise suited me, if i wanted to go to rosebank or wanderers i would have joined there, much nicer, now with the renovations they say you can go wanderers or Rosebank, but i don't want to go there, it a hack with traffic from where i stay. Surely the consumer protection act has something to protect us against this, if they closing and i sign a local member, they are not providing that service and i should not have to pay. They should put subscription fees on hold until they open. Come PF show some compassion?
