When I realised that I would not be able to honor my monthly debit order to Zone Fitness Wynberg, I emailed them and explained and requested that they double debit me next month. I also emailed them on their website. Shortly after I received a call from Sharon Yon from Zone Fitness who basically called to tell me what I requested won't work, and she explained how their system works. She told me that my bank account would be debited weekly until Zone Fitness finds money in my bank account for my late fees and reminded me of how much I would lose if I don't pay the fees. I told her that my contract states that a double debit may be done to bring the account back to normal and she abruptly said this was not so. To the contrary, my contract states the following: IF WE DO NOT RECEIVE PAYMENT BY THE TIME WE CALCULATE THE NEW MONTH'S FEES, WE MAY SUBMIT A DOUBLE DEBIT ORDER TO BRING YOUR ACCOUNT BACK TO NORMAL. My bank account has snce been debited twice, on 8 May, then on 15 May and I expect it to be debited again on the 23rd. I want to know who gives Zone Fitness the right to go into my account so many times when the contract states otherwise and I want them to stop this immediately.
