I cancelled my account in 2008 due to divorce and could no longer afford the gym fees. I contacted the Amanzimtoti branch 30 days prior to our contract expiring date. I explained my situation that I am getting a divorce and wont be able to afford the gym fees anymore, terefore I would like to cancel the contract and how do I go about doing that? I was told that I need to state everything in writing and then fax the letter through to the accounts department and then everything will be sorted out. I did that and the last payment went off by debit order. I received a notification stating the account is closed and the contract terminated.
Now after 5 years I receive calls from a company named MBDLC, stating that my virgin active account has been handed over in 2010! There is an outstanding amount of R1000 and something rand and that I have to settle the account! My word now after 5 years? This is an absolute disgrace! My name is black listed because of this and I cant get it sorted out!
