I joined Virgin Active branch in George (2007) contract for 12 months
I relocated to PE early 2008 and kept on paying my fees.
September 2009 I changed jobs and relocated to Queenstown. NO VIRGIN ACTIVE in 150km
I cancelled my membership.1. Went in to the branch in Summer strand explained the situation and was told to contact the office where I joined. 2. Called George branch and was asked to fax resignation letter to the Cape Town branch.3. Letter was faxed to both George and Cape Town.
For the following 3 months the subscriptions were still debited from my bank account. After several calls I ended up going to my bank and asking them to REVERSE the payment. Showing them the letters where I cancelled the membership. Early 2010 I started getting calls "collection agents" I explained and was asked to fax the letter to them By now I was told my debit orders was returned due to no money... GREAT
This kept on month after month. I then asked the one woman who called me to please continue with legal action. It's now March 2013 and I am still receiving sms every single week regarding my overdue account with Virgin Active. I'm now advised to sign and Debit Order - OVE
