Written communication on the 20/06/2013 advising that the contract be cancelled with immediate effect and confirmation of this was sent to me via email from the Cape Town office regarding the account. There was a lady who contacted me from Virgin Active Roodepoort enquiring why i had cancelled the contract and offered me one free month of gym cover in September 2013 and also confirmed that the premium that was due for June 13 would be written off. An outstanding amount of R33 was due and payable which i paid via EFT. I have now once again received an account adivisng that i owe Virgin Active R919.32 which i will not be paying them as i cancelled this contract in June 2013. When i joined virgin active i joined as a Vitality Club member and having lost my benefits due to termination of my membership with discovery i no longer have vitality. I notified the lady that correspondence is drafted to clients when their premiums are outstanding but when a contract is up for renewal or amendments to the contract will be effected no notification is sent to the client in writing. This being said Virgin Active automatically moved me onto a R509.00 p/m premium and i cancelled the contract.
