As per my direct complaint to Woolworths:
I've bought Woolworths Cream Cheese with Tomato and Herbs log twice now, and both times they went moudly before the use by date, and before even opened! At R18.95 it's rather a cheap thing to have to throw away. I had it in my fridge, unopened, which had a sell by date of 3 May, and a use by date of 5 May 2013. I bought it at Kenilworth Centre Woolworths if memory serves. I opened it today (27 April), after noticing it had white specs inside, and noticed that the white specs were thick bits of mould!! I've taken photos of it! It's gross and a waste of my money, for the second time. In case you don't respond to this complaint, which wouldn't be there first time, I'm also putting it on Hello Peter!
You also tend to have products on your shelves in less "affluent" stores that are either on the day of expiry, or about to expire, whereas stores in your "better" areas have a longer shelf-life. I go to many Woolies stores and have noticed it in the last year or so... money wasted for us customers because Woolworths is supposed to have fresher products.
