I bought a pack of Woolworths steak pies (4 in a box) on Saturday 1 June from the Pinelands branch - took these straight home and placed in my freezer. Yesterday, I took these out of the freezer to use for supper last night. It was then that I noticed the sticker on the box "Display by 15 Jan 2013/Sell by 15 MARCH 2013!! Admittedly, I suppose, I should have checked this when I took this item out of the freezer but being Woolworths, I didn't think for a moment there would be a quality control kind of issue. Naturally, I felt I could not risk using these pies as the sell by date was more than 2, 5 months ago! What kind of checks are being made when shipping these foodstuffs to the branches (question no 1) and what kind of checks are being made in the stores when receiving these items (question no 2). Unfortunately, I do not still have my till slip... I am very disappointed with Woolworths.
