Stinking customer service

We purchased a pair of Levi trainers for my daughter at Edgars about one month ago. She noticed after about three weeks that the soles were worn right through. I then told her to return them to the store and exchange them - which I thought would be NO problem. WRONG - firstly she did not have the slip but she had the bank statement which stated that she had bought them at Edgars Cape Gate. Not good enough for them though and they refused to look up the original docket and sent her away empty handed. She called me and I told her to speak to the manager. In this case Angus??? She called me after a while in tears stating that he was the rudest, most uncouth, unhelpful, scathing, sarcastic piece of dung she had ever had the pleasure to meet! He told her (and I called him afterward and he admitted to saying this), that she could not expect shoes that she paid R350 for to last more than a month! I nearly had a stroke when I heard this. He eventually exchanged the shoes and said it was the last time he would exchange them. How COULD anyone have this attitude especially when you are a MANAGER??? So basically he tells me that Edgars sells goods that are bad quality.
