In consideration of a replacement shaver for my trusty old Philishave, I stumbled upon the impressive-looking Pentagon Male Grooming Set by Verimark, and decided to give it a shot due to a R170 price difference between it and the Philips model I was considering. At home, I plugged it in and let it charge (took about an hour, which was good), and left it on my night stand.
The next morning I stuck it to my face and pushed the on-button. The only thing changing on my face was my expression - from apprehension to total disappointment - my beard was still there. The reason being, the battery had mysteriously lost all its charge overnight while just sitting there...
I suppose there is a reason why certain things cost more, and I will be exchanging this piece of disappointment with another trusty Philishave (and paying up the R170 difference with a smile), knowing that I will be buying quality.
Stay away from this gimmick by Verimark - until they sort out the battery (I could not test its cutting performance), it will remain a disappointment.
