Outstanding Amount Diffe

My mom is a pensioner who has an account at Electric Express, she never missed a payment up until in Dec 2012, in november we tried settling the account after being told amount outstanding was R 3200, we then paid R 2500 of which we were told there's an amount of R 640 outstanding, now in january 2013 when she went to make payment she was told she owed R 1000 and more on her account and when she asks no one gives her a proper explanation and was promised that they'll investigate till today no one has called her.
