I bought a beautiful and expensive handbag. It lost its shape and form completely and for the quality and price I expected more. I went into the shop about 3 weeks after I'd bought the bag and explained the situation to the manager, I also admitted to her that I had misplaced my slip as I had just moved. She was very nice and agreed that the bag looks faulty, she mentioned that it may be a manufacturing problem. She was professional and understanding, she asked me to print my bank statements for the date of purchase and she would help me from there. I went back earlier today with statements and bag in hand, she then informs me she cannot do a cash refund, with attitude, because they only refund within 10days. This doesn't make sense to me as the bag only became an issue to me after 3weeks. I find this unacceptable and as the Consumer Protection Act states there is a period of 6months from the date of purchase to return a product if it is faulty. The consumer then has the option of a cash refund, a voucher or an exchange. I find unacceptable that the manager either does not know about this Law or she chooses to go against it.
I am very disappointed but i hope this can be resolved
