We have purchase a furnished holiday home in Knysna, the propery was sold with a brand new grafton everst three, two and one seater lounge suite.
In January the three seater collapsed, we got a proffessional person out to investigate the problem. When the material was taken off, we saw that poorquality wood in this casepine wood was used with vast amounts of knags/knots, no wonder the short life span was due to this inferior quality wood. The breakages occured on these weak spots. However what was most annoying was that reparations occured in the factory - proof of areas that was patched up and sold as new to the public. We took photographs of this as well as the name and telephone number of the person who witnessed this poor workmanship. It just shows you that when buying a lounge suite you pay a fortune for the finished product, but you are totally unaware of the condition inside.
In this case the lounge suite was sold as new, but it was damaged on the inside and was repaired in the factoty to camouflage the defect. Grafton Everest gives a guarentee against defects, but this becomes irrelevant if the customer is unaware what he buys.
