Airtime voucher faded so unable to read pin numbe
I bought 4 pre-paid airtime vouchers on 14 December 2013. Some of these vouchers are still legible, but one voucher is faded exactly where the pin number is located on the slip. The voucher number on the slip is still legible, and my carrier is able to verify that I have not used the airtime. I thought getting a refund for this was easy. I went to Clicks in KC centre, where a supervisor told me that there is no refund on airtime/gift vouchers and that the slip was "undamaged" when it left the shop (was sold to me). I would hope that in a 1st world country most of a retailer's merchandise is undamaged when it's sold to customers! I insisted that it is not a refund, but damaged goods because of the fact that the ink on Click's till slip paper fades (like fax paper). I have no control over which paper they use in for their till slips, but if it is used for something that is not refundable, surely it should be more permanent. The Consumer act gives me 6 mths on damaged goods - MY choice of a refund, repair or replacement. Why does Clicks not adhere to the rules of the act??
