As I was passing Truworths I saw that the denim skirts were on sale. I entered the shop and took 4 to try on. A lady was busy marking down the prices, but did not say anything when I took the skirts. I proceeded to the fitting rooms there were no assistant to help. The lady at the pay point just shouted that I could go in. I tried the skirts on and decided on a Ginger Mary skirt marked R200. When I paid the skirt the cashier said I owed her R270. I pointed to the marked price of R200. She replied that the sale would only start tomorrow 29 Jan 2004. Which was apparently indicted at the entrance. I asked to see the manager. The manager just replied that the sale only stats the next day. She could not answer me when I asked why access to the sale clothes were not restricted, or why the lady marking down the clothes did not inform me that prices were not as marked yet. I left the store definitely not feeling like a valued customer and wasted my time trying on clothes that were NOT on sale yet. I finished my shopping at the mall, and as I left saw that they were barricading sale goods, that surely indicates that my complaint had merit. I do have photo s.
