I bought a Polar RCX3 GP5 @ MRPSport, Pavilion. During the week I wanted to use the watch, but it was not reading my heart rate.
I had the strap tested at Sportmans Warehouse & they found the strap to be faulty. I took it back to MRPSport & requested the strap to be exchanged, which they did without any questions. Back to SW I had it tested again.By elimination (using some of their components, we found the centre piece was also faulty. Back to MRP (with proof of purchace & original packaging) I requested a refund. I dont want faulty equipment if I can get the same (that works) from Sportmans.
Although the lady that helped me, Jessica, was polite, the refund was refused "because I had already used the watch." No, how could I have used it if it doesnt work? She wanted to send it back to Polar, I said that would be a problem as I was leaving for Jhb in 2 days. Then she gave me Polar's address in Midrand so I can take it back myself. (A postal address, by the way)
Ive had problems with similar equipment from other retailers and none of them have ever had a problem with refunding or exchanging without question. The inconvenience thus far is unacceptable, and theres more to come. Off to Midrand...
