I received a call from a collections agency about my account being in arrears since 2007.
I called a credit report and my Edgars account reflecting negatively with the credit Bureus. I then contacted Edgars who could not provide me with any info and referred me to the store to get an updated statement. I called the collection agency and was told that there is a balance of R7000 and my last payment was made in 2007. I find it unreasonable that only after 3 years I'm informed about monies owing, I have since consulted with my lawyer who advised me that this debt has prescribed according to the the Prescriptions Act 68 of 1969.
Please close this account and remove the negative information recorded with the Credit Bureaus alternatively I will approach the various dispute channels, be it the Ombudsman, Consumer Protection Commissioner or a court of law
