Four Weeks to Change a Watch Battery

I own two Fossil watches, both of which needed new batteries. When I called Fossil I was told that the watches would have to be left at the Sandton branch and sent to Cape Town for the batteries to be changed & that this would take about a week. I was astonished that Fossil can't change a watch battery in Johannesburg, but went in to drop them off. The store assistant told me that it would take 4 (four) weeks!! This is completely unacceptable and if true, will prevent me from every buying a Fossil product again or recommending that anyone else does.
