I went specifically to this Pick n Pay store for the big variety of products etc. First I went to the pet shop next door and paid with my Standard Bank cheque card without any problems. Next I went and did my shopping in Pick n Pay and since I am not very familiar with the store I spent over 1, 5 hour getting everything needed. Then I line up (in a busy cue) and notice that a staff member is talking to the person in front of me something regarding Standard Bank being offline. Next he approaches me to ask if I'm using Standard Bank (which I am) and he informs me that their system is currently offline and I will probably not be able to pay. Since I had already spent so much time there I decided to give it a try - and the transaction did not go through on their system (although it did come of my account on my mobile banking). When the manager came she informed me that the transaction would be reversed shortly and refused any other ways, such as EFT payment. My complaint is that they did not make any announcements on the speaker system and this trip costs me a few hours (away from precious family time) and I still came home empty handed. I am now done with Pick n Pay.
