On 3rd December 2013 we took a Garmin Oregon 550 in for repairs. Early in January we phoned and asked about it and they said they had received no feedback from Garmin and we were told they were only opening on 16th January 2014.

As we are leaving on a geocaching trip on 27th January we contacted them on the 15th and were informed they had still no response from Garmin as they were closed from the 6th December to 16th January. As this did not sound feasible we contacted Garmin direct. They informed us they received this unit on 5th December and as it was beyond economical repairs they had sent a quote to Cape Union Mart on 9th December for an alternate unit.

It is now six and a half weeks later and we as the customer have had to make more than is necessary phone calls to try and resolve this and the outlook is quite high that we will leave without a GPS.

This is a huge disappointment for us as Geocachers who have found 9700 caches in South Africa.
