Stuttafords refuses to credit my Account

I had purchased a few items to the value of about R800 which unfortunately was not suitable and approached Customer Services to credit my account. The good were being returned in full compliance of their exchange policy. My account is a month in arrears and because of this they refused to accept the return until the account is made current. Whilst I accept the arrear position, their policy of not accepting the return is totally unacceptable as it seriously prejudices the customer. The return of the goods is a totally separate matter from the state of the account and their practice is highly irregular and unacceptable for a store like Stuttafords; in fact unheard of. What this also means that if my account balance is R800 and I am returning the goods to the value of R800, I must first pay this and then return the goods for a credit, thus my account will now be in credit!!! and they will not give me a cash refund. This practice has to stop immediately and the rettrns policy must be segregated from the account payment policy. Whoever introduced this crazy policy needs to immediately change it and not inconvenience their customers unnecessarily.
