Phone does not accept my network/sim card

I bought a Vodacom phone from Game on the 8th Jan and the sales lady told me that should I decide to use a different network on the phone and there is technical damage on the phone, Game would not accept it as I would have forfeited my warranty. I then went on to explain to her that I was buying the phone for my Telkom sim card which I use for business purposes. She said it's fine as long as I understand that they would not be held responsible for repairing the phone should something go wrong with it. I then assured her that I would fix any damage on the phone should it be so. Later that day when I inserted the sim card it did not work. It turns out the phone does not accept Telkom network.

On Friday 10th Jan I returned the phone, the sales lady was rude and so was her manager, Victor Mavuso. He insisted that the sales lady would have told me not to use any other network except Vodacom. I then asked him why I would still buy the phone if that was the case as I clearly explained to the lady that I wanted to use the phone for my telkom sim card. What must I do with a product that does not perform the function I had bought it for?
